Listening on Your Phone

For meeting participants. Short enough to print on a table card.

Three steps

1. Scan the code on the room screen. Join the room WiFi first. Then point your phone's camera at the QR code on the room display, or type the address shown under it into your browser.

2. Enter the PIN — if you are asked for one. It is shown on the room screen.

3. Tap your language. Put your headphones on. You will hear the meeting in your language, and see the sentence being spoken on your screen.

That is all. You can put your phone down — it stays awake and keeps playing.

While you listen

  • Change language: tap ⋯ (top right), then pick another language.
  • Just read, no sound: ⋯ → Mute.
  • Fallen behind? ⋯ → Skip to live jumps to what is being said now.
  • Light or dark screen: the moon/sun button, top right.
  • "Tap to resume audio": your phone paused the sound (after a call, an alarm or locking the screen). Tap the button.
  • "Not started yet" / "Meeting ended": nothing is wrong — the page carries on by itself when the meeting starts.

Good to know

  • No app, no account, nothing to install.
  • You hear the meeting about two to four seconds after it is said.
  • Nothing is recorded on your phone. Captions disappear when you close the page or the meeting ends. Only your language choice is remembered for next time.
  • Arabic, Urdu and Persian captions read right to left.
