AIR-GAPPED BY DESIGN

No wire out. No wireless out. No way out.

An air gap is the strictest network boundary there is. Ovvos Wasel was built to live inside one — from installation to the last meeting, with nothing it needs from the outside.

DEFINITION

What is an air gap?

An air-gapped system has no connection — physical or wireless, direct or indirect — to the internet or to any network outside its own boundary. The "gap" is literal: there is air, not cable, between it and the rest of the world.

Data can only cross that boundary by deliberate, controlled means — usually removable media carried in by a person, checked and logged. Defence, intelligence, critical infrastructure and central banks use air gaps for systems whose compromise or disclosure would be unacceptable.

For software, that sets a hard test: it must install, start, run and be maintained without ever reaching outside. Most interpretation tools fail it at the first step, because the interpreting happens in someone else's data centre.

Five questions that decide whether software really runs behind an air gap.

THE QUESTIONANSWERHOW OVVOS WASEL MEETS IT
Can it install without the internet?YESOne offline package carries the software, every language model and every voice — and the runtime it needs. No download step at any point.
Can it start and run with no outside connection?YESRecognition, translation and speech run on the room PC's own processor and graphics card, reading models from its own disk.
Does it ever try to reach out?NONo licence server, telemetry, update check or model download. Measured with two independent methods: no outbound connection at startup, idle or during a meeting.
Do users' devices need the internet?NOPhones and tablets join the room's own access point and open a page served by the room PC on one port. That network needs no route beyond the room.
Can it be supported without a way in?YESNo standing agent, vendor account or inbound port. Air-gapped rooms are supported by telephone with your operator at the keyboard, or on site under escort.

Everything that lives inside the gap.

01 · THE ROOM PC

Does all the work

Listens, recognises, translates and speaks. Every internal component listens on the PC itself only.

02 · THE ACCESS POINT

A network with no exit

WiFi on an isolated VLAN, wired to the PC. Participants join it; it leads nowhere else.

03 · PHONES & TABLETS

Visitors, not installs

A browser page from the room PC. Nothing installed, nothing stored but a language preference.

04 · THE AUDIO

Whatever the room hears

Microphones, a mixer line feed, or a call already reaching the room by your approved route.

Don't take our word for it. Close the gap and watch.

Your accreditation team can prove the air gap holds in an afternoon.

Read the network statement
  1. 01Install from the offline package on a PC with its network cable unplugged.
  2. 02Connect only the room access point, on a VLAN with no route out.
  3. 03Run a span-port capture or host firewall log for a full acceptance meeting.
  4. 04Expected result: interpretation works, and there is no outbound flow from the Ovvos Wasel processes.

What sits outside our control

Air gaps, in short answers.

What is an air-gapped system?

A computer or network with no connection, direct or indirect, to the internet or any outside network. Data crosses only by deliberate, controlled physical means.

Is Ovvos Wasel air-gapped?

It is designed to run in an air-gapped room: offline installation, no internet to start or run, no outbound connection, and support without remote access.

How do phones connect if the room is air-gapped?

Through the room's own access point, which has no route beyond the room. Phones reach the room PC on one port.

How are updates delivered?

As offline media you inspect and carry in, exactly like the original installation. Nothing updates itself.
