Room network
- A WiFi access point for participants — WiFi 6 recommended — with a wired link to the room PC.
- Ideally an isolated VLAN with no route beyond the room. Nothing in the product needs one.
- Client isolation must be off between participants' phones and the room PC (guest networks often isolate clients from each other, which stops phones reaching the PC).
- One TCP port open on the room PC (default 8760). The installer creates the Windows Firewall rule when run as Administrator; the Windows network profile must be Private or Domain, not Public.
Participants
- Any phone or tablet with a modern browser: iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and desktop browsers all work. No app.
- Headphones (wired or Bluetooth).
- Connection to the room WiFi.
Room display
- Any screen the room PC can show — a projector, wall TV or interactive display.
- Designed to be read from 3–8 metres.
Room setup checklist
- Room PC on the room network, wired.
- Access point on, participants' network isolated as your policy requires, client isolation off.
- Audio: the conferencing application plays to the PC's default output, or a mixer feed into a line-in.
- Room display connected to the PC.
- Ovvos Wasel installed (as Administrator, for the firewall rule).
- A test: open the app, wait for "Ready", Start meeting, scan the room display with a phone, pick a language, play something on the PC.
